My next delivery of carriage driving stock is arriving imminently from Europe: more cones and obstacles for re-sale. Existing stock of cones, obstacles (new and second hand) and ancillary equipment always available to view and buy.
I am expecting to Judge at a number of events in the South East this year for club and National events. I always find that by changing my perspective from competitor to judge, I can aim to improve my own driving performances!
I am pursuing training for myself: attending course building training courses both at National level and club level. I hope that these will ensure that the quality of events that I put on will be high. I will also have to renew my First Aid qualification by the end of 2023, review my Safeguarding certification and update my CRB check to maintain my Level 1 Coaching accreditation with HSI. I love learning, but also enjoy making others’ learning interesting and fulfilling. I have arranged for a speaker to talk about “Taking the Stuffiness out of Showing” in March for local carriage drivers. Toni Gallop is a great speaker, well versed in carriage driving and showing, rather than eventing style of driving that I participate it. I hope to make my facilities at Old Hay available during the year for training with me, as coach. Dates to be announced.
I have begun to get my horses fit for competition later this year. If my plan comes together, I am hoping to compete at Windsor Park in May with the tandem, at the David Broome Centre, Chepstow in June, at Sandringham in June and at Ashfields, Essex in August. I will undertaken training before this with my horses and my instructor.
